American Friends of the Belvedere

Mission

American Friends of the Belvedere, a 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt corporation, was founded in March 2011 to strengthen ties between the Belvedere and its American public. Its primary goals are the following:

  • To serve as an interdisciplinary contact and discussion platform for the mutual exchange of knowledge between the Belvedere and American institutions, with the purpose of preserving, transmitting, and encouraging further study with a focus on Austrian art within an American and international context
  • To promote collaborations between the Belvedere and American institutions through the development of cultural activities in the U.S., such as educational programs and professional and scholarly exchanges
  • To participate in the financing of Belvedere projects, such as renovations of galleries, restorations, publications, fellowships, and educational programs both in Austria and the U.S.
