Augarten Contemporary

This year, the BC21 Boston Consulting & Belvedere Contemporary Art Award, an initiative of the Boston Consulting Group Vienna, is organized the third time in cooperation with the Belvedere. Offering a prize money of 20.000 Euros, the BC21 Art Award carries the highest value among prizes for contemporary art donated by the private sector in Austria. Besides its prize money, the BC21 also includes an exhibition and a monographic publication.

The prize is meant to promote innovative young artists and is awarded every second year. Eligible artists must be under 40 years old and must have been born in Austria or living in the country for at least five years.

For the BC21 2011, the nomination jury - consisting of Sabine Breitwieser, Senior Curator, Department of Media and Performance Art, The Museum of Modern Art, New York, Yilmaz Dziewior, Director, Kunsthaus Bregenz, Boris Ondreicka, artist and independent curator, and Kathleen Rahn, Director, Nuremberg Kunstverein - selected Anna Artaker, Florian Pumhösl and Lucie Stahl as the finalists in this year's competition.

The three artists will present their approaches in an exhibition at Augarten Contemporary from 22 September to 20 November 2011.
