**Duration:** 10 June 2016 - 9 October 2016

**Born in 1942, the painter, sculptor, installation and object artist, Cornelius Kolig is known for his uncompromising work that revolves around the human body and the psyche, sexuality and death, obsessions and taboos. In the 1960s and 1970s, he experimented with newly developed materials such as acrylic glass and polycarbonate. He primarily created sculptures that were committed to the technoid aesthetics of the time but also anticipated his future body-related works. In 1980, he started building his “Gesamtkunstwerk”, an architectural site in Vordernberg an der Gail, Carinthia, which he named *The Paradise*. The exhibition presents an insight into the different groups of works that comprise Kolig’s extensive artistic oeuvre.**
