Georg Eisler (1928–1998) was an Austrian postwar Modernist painter known for the keen observational skills that became the hallmark of his art. Driven by an abiding interest in politics and social dynamics, he directed his perceptive gaze to the harsh and dismal realities of his era, including insurrection and protest, which he considered equally important to the exploration of motifs drawn from everyday life.
