PROGRAM
A decisive voice in the queer-feminist avant-garde, Ashley Hans Scheirl has been uncompromising and radical in challenging the boundaries of art, the body, and society. With sharp critique, a fine sense of humor, and formal liberties, Scheirl negotiates fundamental questions of identity and gender fluidity. Spanning work from the 1970s to the present, the exhibition unfolds into an expansive cosmos of painting, installation, film, sound, text, and performance, staged within an immersive, theatrical setting.
