Der Film ist eine Studie über den Arbeitsalltag in einer Fabrik, die Zubehör für Bowlingbahnen herstellt; der Titel bezieht sich auf den Namen einer Bowlingbahn in Eversons Heimatstadt Mansfield, Ohio. Während einer achtstündigen Schicht folgt der Filmemacher den Arbeiter*innen dieser Fabrik in Echtzeit ohne Kommentar, seine Präsenz ist jedoch immer spürbar. So entfaltet sich eine Betrachtung über Geschichte und Ökonomie von manueller, industrialisierter Arbeit anhand der Individuen und ihrer präzisen "Performance" und nicht anhand der Objekte, die produziert werden.
Park Lanes ist an 3 Tagen ab 11h in voller Länge im Blickle Kino des Belvedere 21 zu sehen.
Eine Kooperation mit Vienna Shorts und dem Österreichischen Filmmuseum.
With the title referring to the name of a bowling alley in Everson's hometown of Mansfield, Ohio, Park Lanes is a study of everyday work in a factory that manufactures bowling alley accessories. During an eight-hour shift the filmmaker follows the workers of this factory in real time without commentary, while his presence is always felt. Thus unfolds a reflection on the history and economy of manual, industrialized labour narrated through the individuals and their precise "performance" rather than through the objects that are produced.
On 3 days, Park Lanes is screened in full length starting at 11am at Blickle Kino. Admission is free, the movie theatre can be entered or left at any time.
