Emilie Flöge

Emilie Flöge – Gustav Klimt’s companion and muse – was a reformist fashion designer, artist, and business woman. Based on some 400 postcards and letters Klimt wrote to her, Penny Black’s solo show for the Austrian actor Maxi Blaha explores the relationship between two of the most fascinating figures from fin-de-siècle Vienna: Emilie Flöge and Gustav Klimt. Emilie Flöge – Beloved Muse was written and performed for the BELVEDERE in 2018 to mark the centenary of Gustav Klimt’s death. The English- language version Emilie Flöge – Beloved Muse has been invited to tour to Istanbul, Paris, London, New York, Australia, New Zealand, India and Japan. The solo performance is based on an idea first developed for the KLIMT FOUNDATION on the Attersee in a play called Süße Wiener Dunkelheit / tiefheller See.
