Avoid Waiting Times

It is busiest between 11 am and 2 pm. We therefore advise you to plan your visit at an off-peak time. The Upper Belvedere opens at 9 am, the Lower Belvedere at 10 am.

 

 

Seating / Wheelchairs

There is some seating in the exhibition rooms. Folding stools are available for visitors at the cloakrooms.

 

 

Visitors with Children

  • It is our pleasure to welcome adults, youths and children to our museum.
  • Parents and guardians are responsible for the behaviour of children and youths.
 

 

 

 

Cloakrooms

  • It is not allowed to enter the museum with outer wear and items such as umbrellas, rucksacks, travel bags and hand bags. All such items may be deposited at the cloakroom. 
  • There are lockers (free of charge).
  • It is not possible to deposit suitcases. 
  • Bag checks take place occasionally.
 

 

In the Exhibition Rooms

  • It is not allowed to touch or in any other way cause damage to exhibits.
  • We kindly ask you to refrain from using your mobile phone or talking loudly in the exhibition rooms to avoid disturbing other visitors. 
  • Smoking is not allowed anywhere in the museum.
  • Animals (except guide dogs) are not allowed to be taken into the museum.
 

Eat and Drink

It is forbidden to carry and consume food and beverages in any of our exhibition rooms. Our Schlosscafé, the Parkcafé and the Lucy Bar offer a variety of food and drinks. 

 

 

Photography

  • Photographing and filming in the museum is allowed for private, non-commercial purposes, without the use of flash, tripods or selfie-sticks, as long as the integrity of the exhibits is guaranteed.
  • Excluded from this are rooms,
    exhibitions or individual exhibits marked as having a ban on photography. 
  • You can apply for a permit to film or take photos for academic or reporting purposes from our communications department.
 

 

Lost Property

Lost property can be collected at the cloakroom ,valuables at the security office.
